Merry Tuesday everyone

Our words and actions matter, whether we want them to, or not... Our 'Yes' and 'No' are taken as our very word, by God... therefore be careful - (full of care) with them. Don't sell out your birthright for a flipp'in casserole.

"...lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears."
Hebrews 12:15-17

The camera always lies...

Reality Check!!!

"...because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie"

Be thou my television

The people perish through a lack of tele-Vision... but then again... thank Cowell... X Factor is on... that should keep the masses distracted for another working week. The rats have taken over the lab.

A true "reality show" would reveal that the world is drowning, not waving...
...drowning in such a shallow place.

How can I be Saved?

Have you noticed, few "church websites" actually give The Gospel? - This can easily happen, as we're all so keen to have folks know about what WE are up to. Below is a link to our new page, just up on the website. It's an attempt to try to remedy this, for our part at least.
The gospel of Jesus Christ: How can I be Saved?

We pray it leads 'whosoever' into the hope, everlasting life and joy, that is found only in Jesus Christ.

From tradition, to life in Jesus Christ

Establishing the Authentic Gospel.
Testimony from Richard Bennett about coming out from Roman Catholicism, after searching the scriptures and receiving imputed righteousness by grace, through faith in The Lord Jesus Christ's death and resurrection alone.
Challenging and sincere.

Sacrifice

Something which I am sure most people understand is the power of Praise and Thanksgiving, especially at a time when it is the last thing that we feel like doing. We are living in times where we must allow ourselves to be renewed in our minds and hearts by the word of God.
Praise can be a very powerful weapon. Giving thanks can be the way through a situation of need. The economy of God is very different. His ways are so much higher.  Do not be proud. Humility gets His attention.
Bring your sacrifice to Him.
Do you face a situation that seems to be impossible and negative. Can you turn it round.  Only God can help.

Everything we have is His.

Bring a sacrifice of praise and thanks to Him. Don’t wait till it feels right. Don’t waste anymore time.  Don’t let the enemy steal any longer. What do you wait for.

He has given us all that we need. Your breakthrough is within you. He is waiting to see your response.

Maturity is to praise and thank Him because we have passed form death to life. We live for eternity now. We should dictate our environment not be dictated to.

But this is all according to what you apply... Don’t just be a hearer of the word anymore.

Fast Track

John 6:19-21 says:
"So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid. But He said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going."

Not noticed before the bit after they willingly received Him into the boat...that says that the boat "immediately" was then at the land where they were going.

WOW !!!

Willingly receiving Jesus into the "boat" of our labour (...come to Me all those that labour... etc) and be translocated to the place you were going... yes please Jesus!

May contain Nuts

One of my favourite Mike Leigh films, apart from 'Bleak Moments' is this one, called 'Nuts in May' produced by the BBC in 1975. It's pure tortured genius. This is a great clip. It's a humorous illustration of how some people impress their "interests" on others. It simply does not register with them, that they may be 'ram-raiding' another's personal boundaries.

I believe there are many fledgling sociopaths out there, with "good intentions". However, in not adopting their current views on life, they will pummel you until you "Agree". People DO need guidance in life, and we need bible based teaching. God's word is absolute!. Regarding the making of disciples, down the road this process should lead to mutual respect. If a good relationship with Jesus Christ and understanding of the bible is in place, one would hope they can inquire of The Lord when others are not around. If not, what happens if the shepherd is struck? Will they be "grown up" enough the continue with their walk in The Lord?

Allowing people to exercise their God given (!) free-will equips people, in all conscience, to truly make decisions. This builds a healthy sense of personal responsibility, something that goes out of the window if they are being controlled or smothered (however well intentioned).

Ephesians 4:11-13 says "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;"  (NKJV) - emphasis mine.

Our opinions change with new revelation and instruction... we need to allow for this in ourselves and in others. i.e. Last year, I was right!!!, this year, oh, I've have an epiphany and I was wrong about that... (but last year "I was right" and I blumm'in let you all know it) We need to stay teachable... humility requires it! The only things in all creation that are reliable and true forever, are The Lord and His Word.

Mike Leigh's films, tend to distill the awkwardness of when people (with their backstories) are thrown together. Navigating relationship with love, respect and balanced assertiveness is a process we should never hide from.

Peter 3:15 says  "But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge Him] as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully". (amplified version) - emphasis mine.

The truth spoken in love? ...yep and amen!

"How to eat a water melon" by Captain Obvious

I was waiting for the punchline on this video, but this bloke (Tom Willett) plays it so seriously.
I think this could be 'dead-pan humour' at work here...

However, it got me thinking, it's nice to be passionate about a subject, but so many people's focus in life about "what is important", is FUTILE.

This clip has to be watched to be believed.

However let it spur you on to do something WORTHWHILE with your life. Ask The Lord.
